Collier County has been recognized for its exceptional recycling efforts by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) at the Florida Recycles Day Ceremony, held on Friday, November 15th, at the Patel College of Global Sustainability on the University of South Florida campus in Tampa.
At the ceremony, members of Collier County’s Solid Waste Division accepted the distinguished award for achieving the State Statute Recycling Goal of 75%—a remarkable milestone that only three counties in Florida have reached.
In addition to this honor, Collier County was also presented with the Recycling Champions Award from the Florida Recycling Partnership Foundation. This award highlights the county’s industry-leading recycling services and programs, which have set a high bar for sustainability and environmental responsibility.
These accomplishments are a direct result of the collective efforts of community members, business owners, and Collier County Recycling Coordinators, all of whom play an essential role in supporting and promoting recycling across the county.
The Collier County Solid Waste Division is committed to continuing this work within our community to promote the message: Preserve Our Paradise.
